Hands-on Senior Software Architect with leadership ability and an entrepreneurial attitude

Significant parts of Tindeco’s technology is new – there are no competing products which can be emulated. This makes our work both challenging and exciting and requires a creative yet disciplined approach. As the Senior Software Architect for our most innovative suite of modules you will play the leading technical role in this area.

You should have the ability to grasp and conceptualise how a complex set of software modules can be optimally architected to work together. You should have the leadership ability to work with a team of talented engineers, quants and quantitative developer to develop and implement an ambitious plan to deliver our objectives. As our team is still small, you will need to be hands-on and contribute significantly to the codebase. Our software research and development takes place in Scotland and we would expect you to be able to spend time in our Edinburgh office  – but have the flexibility to use home office on a regular basis, meaning you can be located anywhere within the UK. You will also work closely with the CEO and CTO who are based in Switzerland.

In terms of your technology skills, you must possess an outstanding knowledge of .Net and C#. Significant experience within the domain of asset and/or wealth management is major plus.

Salary and total compensation will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the role. You will gain an equity exposure to Tindeco by being enrolled in our EMI approved employee incentive scheme.

About Tindeco

Tindeco was founded in 2010 in Zug, Switzerland by two former senior employees of a Swiss wealth manager where they had worked together. Our CEO, was the head of asset management and chairman of the investment committee overseeing the management of more than $100 bn.. Our CTO was responsible for the development and deployment of a nexgen technology platform for the asset management division. Together they decided that there was a massive gap in the marketplace which represented a fantastic business opportunity. Senior Software Engineer

Tindeco is seeking outstanding Senior Software Engineers to join our team in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Tindeco is a leading European FinTech with an award-winning set of technology. Our ground-breaking Tindeco VISION investment management platform offers asset and wealth managers a comprehensive solution across their standard workflows. VISION also enables these investment managers to automate large parts of their investment process and offer mass customised, risk tailored investment portfolios. These capabilities have led major consultancies to conclude that the asset and wealth management industry can implement new target operating models to dramatically improve the way they operate and the products and services they offer to clients.  In this respect Tindeco is a truly disruptive FinTech with an exciting future.

Tindeco was founded in 2010 in Zug, Switzerland by two former senior employees of a Swiss private bank where they worked together to jointly both manage money and develop new technology platform for the asset management division.  All our software research and development takes place in Edinburgh, Scotland.  You would be working with a team of 8-10 software engineers, financial mathematicians and quantitative developers.

We are seeking software engineers with an entrepreneurial attitude.  Significant parts of Tindeco’s technology is new – there are no competing products which can be emulated. This makes our work both challenging and exciting and requires a creative yet disciplined approach.  You should have the ability to break down big problems into smaller ones and tackle them head on.  You need to work with the team to take a loose requirement and turn it into a working feature within the platform.  Successful engineers at Tindeco will have a passion and drive for learning new skills and using them to deliver results.

Domain knowledge of the investment management industry, financial products and markets is considered a big plus.  We need engineers who can speak to our clients on a non-technical level about the problems they face. The willingness to travel to support on-site client deliveries is also considered a big plus.

In terms of your technology skills, you must possess an excellent knowledge of .NET. Our current platform is front-to-back .Net. WPF/WinForms on the UI, C# on the server, an F# data model and a SQL Server DB. We don’t need candidates to have used all these before, with a firm grasp of C# the rest can be learned.

The future platform, which is under active development, will be somewhat different.  New UI components are being built in React, the server (whilst still C# and F#) is now a microservices architecture which targets .NET Core and runs in the cloud on Linux machines.  Moving to the cloud brings a raft of other technologies into play: Go, Kubernetes, Docker, Kong, NSQ to name the main ones.  We also plan to migrate to a NoSQL database.  Experience with any of these technologies is a positive, but not a requirement as you can learn these as part of your role if that is of interest to you.
